Proposed Bachelor (Licence) programmes: (3-years)
The Paris-Sorbonne University-Abu Dhabi offers bachelor programmes in Humanities and Social Science in the below fields.
  • Economics and Management
  • Geography and Urban Planning
  • International Business and Languages
  • Law and Political Science
  • Archaeology & History of Art
  • French and Comparative Literature
  • History – Civilization and International Affairs
  • Philosophy and Sociology
The 3rd year of Licence/BA, called Information & Communication is taught in Paris only. Students majored in Geography and Urban Planning, History, French and Comparative Literature and Philosophy can also be accepted to this major. Indeed, a quota of places is reserved for Abu Dhabi-based students. This major is selective Students are chosen based on their academic excellence and interview.

  • Intensive French Programme
The admission process is the same as for the conventional courses but with a different language level required.

  • Licence/BA
Holders of end of secondary studies diploma granted by the public schools are eligible to apply for Licence studies
Aptitude Test in French
  • Non-francophone students: Are accepted DU diploma from Paris Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi as well as B2 level diplomas: DELF, TEF, TCF and SELFEE
  • Francophone students:
  • Students from francophone countries: The students will be admitted to BA programmes subject to a prior interview or a written exam confirming their oral and written skills. It is recommended for the students to pass DELF B2 exam in their country and attach a copy of your diploma along with the application.
  • Students holding a French Baccalaureate: A test is not required.
Required documents for your application:
All candidates must provide an application file in French or in English, (or providing an official translation in either language).
  • Aptitude Test in French for non-francophone students
  • If you are in grade 12: Transcripts of your last 2 high school years is required.
  • If you are a graduate: A certified copy of your Bachelor's degree or your diploma (High School Diploma or equivalent ...)
  • Financial documents :
    • Employer's official document dated less than two months mentioning your monthly salary or your parents’ salary.
    •       OR
    • Any bank statement indicating your credentials
  • Passeport Photocopy
  • 10 passport size photos
  • Personal statement in French or English (1 page maximum)
If your application is accepted, you must confirm by sending the following payements:
  • In the month following receipt of your acceptance letter, if you have been accepted before July 15th
  • In the week following the receipt of your acceptance letter, if you have been accepted after July 15th
Assessment Evaluation process
The academic year is made up of 2 semesters, each with 13 weeks of teaching. Students'knowledge will be tested throughout the semester (continuous assessment).
At the end of each semester, a final examination is scheduled. Students must obtain 30 ECTS per semster in order to qualify for a Bachelor's Degree.

Each course is divided into Credits (UE):
  • The Core Credits which relate to the concerned major
  • The Mandatory Credits (foreign languages and general knowledge)
  • The Optional Credits
Each credit is made up of different subjects (known as “Éléments Constitutifs”: EC).
For example, the 1st Unit of the 1st year of the Archaeology and Art History Licence is made up of 2 subjects (EC):
  • EC1: History of Ancient Art
  • EC2: History of Medieval Art.
