Being an Emirati Woman Today: Profiles, Paths and Challenges

The role of Emirati women in society has been marked by numerous and profound changes in recent decades. Such changes, which come with their own challenges, are related to the spectacular growth experienced by the country and a sharp increase of women in secondary and higher education.

The History, Civilisations and International Affairs Department is organisingthis workshop to explore the role of Emirati women today by bringing together researchers (historians, sociologists, anthropologists, political scientists, etc.) in addition to personal testimonies from Emirati women. It is also the ideal opportunity to observe a historic unveiling of women’s conditions and their increasingly prominent role in the world.
