A family day brought together Sorbonne employees and their families under one umbrella
Abu Dhabi 20 Jan: Driven by its community values, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi held a family day on its campus in Al Reem Island that welcomed families of academics and administrative staff in a friendly ambience set to embrace a one-family-feeling. Organized for the very first time by the university staff for the enjoyment of staff, the successful event was met with contentment and amusement.
Pr. Dr. Eric Fouache Vice-chancellor to the university greeted everyone to enjoy the day. Special attention was devoted to kids though entertaining games and activities like magic shows, arts and crafts, bouncy castles and other games, while adults played table tennis, baby foot and the classic French Pétanque. Everyone indulged in a barbecue and food buffet.
Pr. Dr. Eric Fouache Vice-chancellor said: “We take pride in our strong culture built around community values and respecting one another. The family day is a great opportunity for Sorbonne Abu Dhabi academic and administrative employees to mingle together and bring their families to the bigger family we all belong to. This enhances employees’ sense of belonging and contributes to a making the work environment a very healthy one”.
Mr. Eisa Al Raeisi Head of the Human Resources department added: “As an Emirati university, community and sharing values are deeply rooted into our culture. We celebrate occasions together as families of relatives unite as one big family. Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi inherits its culture from the heritage and the values of the UAE”.
Cultural Diversity is another characteristic about Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. The cadre of employees and students at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi is multicultural reflecting the cosmopolitan setting of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and serving as a bridge between civilizations. The university state-of-the-art campus was the perfect scenario to host this event, offering both sports facilities and a modern cafeteria, as well as an auditorium and atrium with capacity for 700 guests.
