Studying for a Bachelor’s degree
Each course is divided into Credits (UE):
- The Core Credits which relate to the concerned major
- The Mandatory Credits (foreign languages and general knowledge)
- The Optional Credits
Each credit is made up of different subjects (known as “Éléments Constitutifs”: EC).
For example, the 1st Unit of the 1st year of the Archaeology and Art History Licence is made up of 2 subjects (EC):
- EC1: History of Ancient Art
- EC2: History of Medieval Art.
2 Acceptance criteria
Holders of end of secondary studies diploma given by the public sector are eligible to continue their Licence studies at the University.
- Holders of the French Baccalaureate (in all its branches) are accepted.
- Holders of any other secondary diploma should go for a French test in September before the beginning of the courses.
Exempted from the French Language Placement test are:
- Candidates coming from countries where French is considered an official language.
- Holders of DALF, DELF B2 , SELFEE or TCF diplomas.
3 Assessment process
The academic year is made up of 2 semesters, each with 13 weeks of teaching. Students'knowledge will be tested each semester.
Students are evaluated throughout the semester (continuous assessment). At the end of each semester, a final examination takes place. Each students must obtain 30 ECTS per semster in order to obtain a Bachelor's Degree.
