This year,  Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi campus is reaching two major milestones. It is granting its first batch of diplomas, and it is moving to its new Reem island site.

Academic traditional teaching methods remain, but do adapt to the local context, as is demonstrated by the Sorbonne Open University concept. As part of its charter, the Sorbonne University’s objective is to respond to the desire to open one’s horizon, and create a bridge between civilizations, and the creation of the Sorbonne Open University curriculum is an extension of this primary task, and is particularly adapted to this Region.

Within its initial objective which is to provide the best education available, Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is offering a number of lectures, intended to be mind-opening and a gradual introduction to a subject. Through six lectures per subject, a student, French, Arabic or English speaking, can develop one’s opinion on the particular subject, and broaden the field of his or her general knowledge.

These lectures are delivered either by the campus permanent faculty, by professors on assignment, or by experts in the specific subject. The choice of proposed subject, from Humanities to Law and Economic Science, reflects the University’s own expertise spectrum.
