Excellence scholarships

Undergraduate Scholarships

Guidelines 

For continuing students enrolled before September 2026 intake, Undergrade scholarships are not combined with undergrade preferential rates; however, they may be combined with the student ambassador. In such cases, both the scholarship and the student ambassador discount will be calculated based on the full tuition fees.

HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Scholarship for Emirati students

Admitted Emirati nationals and children of Emirati mothers are awarded a full scholarship covering tuition and study-related fees for their Bachelor’s Programmes (and Foundation Year, if applicable).       


Academic Excellence Scholarship (starting from the 2nd semester of enrolment) 

25%-75% Academic Excellence Scholarship

Based on the academic results obtained during the previous semester at SUAD, students are eligible if they apply for the Academic Excellence Scholarship on a semester-by-semester basis. The scholarship scheme is progressive (25% to 75%) and the minimum average grade to be eligible is 12/20.


A specific scholarship is available for the 2nd semester of the Foundation Year.

Undergraduate Preferential Rate

Family Discount 

Students who have a first-degree relative currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate programme are eligible for a 10% discount.

HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Scholarship for Emirati Students 

Admitted Emirati nationals and children of Emirati mothers are awarded a full scholarship covering tuition fees and study-related fees for their Bachelor’s programmes (including the Foundation Year, where applicable). 


Academic Excellence Scholarships (First Semester of Enrolment) 

New students with outstanding academic results in high school may be eligible for a 15% tuition scholarship for the first semester of enrolment, in accordance with the criteria below: 


• UAE Government Schools: 90% in the Advanced Stream, or 95% in the General Stream. 

• American System: CGPA of 3.6 out of 4.0, or Minimum overall average of 90%.

• British System: Grade “A” or higher in three AS-Level subjects, or Grade “A” in the equivalent A-Level subjects, plus Grade “B” or higher in six O-Level subjects. 

• SABIS: Minimum overall average of 85%. 

• International Baccalaureate: IB Diploma with a minimum score of 5 out of 7 in all subjects, including at least three Higher Level (HL) subjects. 

• French Baccalaureate: Minimum overall average of 14 out of 20. 


Academic Excellence Scholarship (From the Second Semester of Enrolment) 

25%–75% Academic Excellence Scholarship

Based on the academic results achieved during the previous semester at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, students may be eligible for an Academic Excellence Scholarship on a semester-by-semester basis. The scholarship is awarded progressively (from 25% to 75%), with a minimum required average grade of 12 out of 20. 


A specific scholarship scheme applies to the second semester of the Foundation Year.

Undergraduate scholarships may be combined with both preferential tuition rates and additional discounts.     


The calculation is as follows: 


• Scholarships and additional discounts are applied to the full tuition fees     

• Preferential rates are then calculated on the remaining amount after the scholarships and any additional discounts have been deducted 

• The discount and scholarships are not transferable, exchangeable for cash, or applicable to other fees.   

• If the total amount of scholarships and discounts exceeds 100%, the student's benefit will be capped at 100%.   

• The university reserves the right to audit and revoke discounts in case of non-compliance.  

 

HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Scholarship for Emirati students 

Admitted Emirati nationals and children of Emirati mothers are awarded a full scholarship covering tuition and study-related fees for their Bachelor’s Programmes (and Foundation Year, if applicable).        


Undergraduate Merit Scholarship for new high school students 

This scholarship ranging from 50% to 75% of tuition is awarded to new students coming from high school and joining the undergraduate and foundation level. This scholarship will be awarded for the full academic year of study. 


To be eligible, students must apply for a scholarship and must not be on academic probation or subject to mandatory remedial courses. They must not be sponsored and must be currently enrolled in the final year of high school, having achieved one of the following average results over the last three semesters of study: 


For the 50% discount on tuition: 

• Government schools: 95% in the advanced, or 95% in the general stream. 

• American system: CGPA of 3.8 out of 4.0 or minimum average of 95%. 

• British system: “A” grade or higher in three “AS-Level” subjects or “A” in the equivalent “A Level” Subjects, plus 7/9 grade or higher in six O Level subjects 

• SABIS: minimum average of 90%. 

• International Baccalaureate: IB diploma with minimum score of 40 out of 45 in all courses 

• French Baccalaureate: minimum average of 16 out of 20. 

• Armenian system:average from 9 to 9.49 out of 10 

• Other system : be ranking in the 20% top of the class or having the equivalent GPA of the above will be assessed by a jury. 

• Awarding occurs for the full year tuition once the admission is offered and once the original documents and the language certification (if required) have been verified. 


For the 75% scholarship: 

• Government schools: 97% in the advanced stream, or 97% in the general stream. 

• American system: CGPA of 4 out of 4.0 or minimum average of 97%. 

• British system: “A” grade or higher in three “AS-Level” subjects or “A” in the equivalent “A Level” Subjects, plus “8/9” grade or higher in six O level subjects. 

• SABIS: minimum average of 95%. 

• International Baccalaureate: IB diploma with minimum score of 42 out of 45 in all courses. 

• French Baccalaureate: minimum average of 18 out of 20. 

• Armenian system:average from 9 to 9.49 out of 10 

• Other system: be ranking in the 10% top of the class or having the equivalent GPA of the above will be assessed by a jury. 

• Awarding occurs for the full year tuition once the admission is offered and once the original documents and the language certificate (if required) have been verified. 


For applicants applying before graduating from high school, a conditional scholarship is awarded based on the conditions above. 


This conditional scholarship will be confirmed upon receipt of the final diploma, subject to the final overall grade meeting the scholarship criteria. 


Students who received a conditional scholarship and failed to provide the final grade with the required average for the scholarship may have their scholarship revoked or adjusted to a lower award.

Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded on an academic yearly basis to eligible students joining SUAD directly from another university.


To be eligible, students must apply for scholarship and must not be on probation period or subject to mandatory remedial courses; must not be sponsored and must achieve one of the following results in the average of the last three semesters of study:


For the 40% tuition discount:

• Student having a GPA of 3.6 or 14 out of 20 in the French system or equivalent

Or

• Student enrolled in a globally ranked university; top 30% of class, subject to jury evaluation


For the 50% tuition discount:

• Student having a GPA of 3.8 or 16 out of 20 in the French system or equivalent

Or

• Student enrolled in a globally ranked university; top 20% of class, subject to jury evaluation


For the 75% tuition discount:

• Student having a GPA of 4 or 18 out of 20 in the French system or equivalent

Or

• Student enrolled in a globally ranked university; top10% of class, subject to jury evaluation


For transfer applicants applying before completing the year, a conditional scholarship is awarded based on the conditions above. This conditional scholarship will be confirmed and final once the final grade of the last year of study is obtained.


Students who received a conditional scholarship and failed to provide the final grade of the last year of study with the required average for the scholarship may have their scholarship revoked or adjusted to a lower award.

Postgraduate Scholarships

For students enrolled before the September 2025, the previous scholarship scheme applies. In this scheme, postgraduate scholarships are not combined with postgraduate preferential rates; however, they may be combined with the early bird discount or student ambassador.     


In such cases, both the scholarship and the early bird discount or student ambassador discount will be calculated based on the full tuition fees.

40% Academic Excellence Scholarship    

New students must apply for scholarship. They are eligible for a 40% scholarship on tuition starting from the first semester, which will remain valid for the entire academic year.


To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:


• A Bachelor’s CGPA between 3.6 and 3.79   

• A Bachelor in French system with a score between 14/20 and 15.99/20    

• For other systems: Graduation within the top 30% of the class. For programmes taught in English, applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency, with a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 or TOEFL iBT score of 94.

• Continuing students must apply for the scholarship. The 40% scholarship is based on the average exam results obtained at SUAD in the most recent year of study.


50% Academic Excellence Scholarship    

New students must apply for scholarship. They are eligible for a 50% scholarship on tuition starting from the first semester, which will remain valid for the entire academic year.    


To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:   


• A Bachelor’s CGPA between 3.8 and 3.99    

• A Bachelor in French system with a score between 16/20 and 17.99/20    

• For other systems: Graduation within the top 20% of the class. For programmes taught in English, applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency, with a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 or TOEFL iBT score of 94.

• Continuing students must apply for the scholarship. The 50% scholarship is based on the average exam results obtained at SUAD in the most recent year of study.


75% Academic Excellence Scholarship    

New students must apply for scholarship. They are eligible for a 75% scholarship on tuition starting from the first semester, which will remain valid for the entire academic year.    


To be eligible, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:


• A Bachelor’s CGPA of 4    

• A Bachelor in French system with a score between 18/20 and 20/20    

• For other systems: Graduation within the top 10% of the class. For programmes taught in English, applicants must also demonstrate English proficiency, with a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 or TOEFL iBT score of 94.

• Continuing students must apply for the scholarship. The 75% scholarship is based on the average exam results obtained at SUAD in the most recent year of study.

• For applicants applying before graduating from their last year of study, a conditional scholarship is awarded based on the conditions above. This conditional scholarship will be confirmed and final once the final diploma or final transcript is obtained, with the final overall grade taken into consideration meets the scholarship criteria. Students who received a conditional scholarship and failed to provide the final grade of their last academic year with the required average for the scholarship may have their scholarship revoked or adjusted to a lower award.
