Collaboration agreement renewal with the Goethe-Institut
9 September, 2021Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi signed the renewal of the collaboration agreement with the Goethe-Institut in Abu Dhabi, during a meeting that was held at the university’s campus and in the presence of Prof Silvia Serrano, Vice-Chancellor, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Mr Fareed Majari, Director of Goethe-Institut Gulf Region.
The initial cooperation between the Goethe-Institut and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi dates back to 2008, whereby the institute provides Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi with highly experienced lecturers that teach German language classes to students at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. German language is an optional subject offered within the curricula of various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.
Moreover, this cooperation aims to provide students with a strong foundation and the necessary skills in German language as well as giving them an overview on German culture through attending various cultural activities organised by the Goethe-Institut. This cooperation comes in line with the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi continuous efforts in enriching student experience and providing students with the most important linguistic and cultural skills alike.
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi always emphasizes on the importance of languages and how this can be as a competitive advantage in the job market and is always keen on supporting students in succeeding both academically and professionally. Moreover, learning the German language provides students with options to pursue their future academic studies in Germany.
