Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi celebrates UAE Flag Day

In celebration of the UAE Flag Day that coincides with the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the Presidency and in response to the invitation of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai; Sorbonne Abu Dhabi raised the national flag at the university’s campus on Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi. The university’s management, faculty and administrative staff and students participated in the event.

Dr. Fatima Saeed Al Shamsi, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administrative Affairs at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi said: “As an Emirati university, we are proud to foster the national spirit in the hearts of our students through Flag Day celebrations. This national day represents the joy and pride we have for the unity of the UAE’s people and their ongoing accomplishments and sacrifice for the nation’s future. By raising the flag high, we are celebrating our national values, the efforts of our wise leadership, and the glory of the UAE.”

Dr. Al Shamsi added: “The UAE Flag Day is always special as we celebrate the anniversary of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s accession to the Presidency. This day is also an opportunity for all of us to express feelings of unity and loyalty as well as our belonging to our beloved nation. We remain committed to supporting the goals and aspirations of our wise leadership, to continue the UAE’s journey and to always be a beacon of light, tolerance, and knowledge.”
