Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi organised the Tenth Edition of its Astrolabe Career Forum

Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi organised the 10th edition of its annual Astrolabe Career Forum yesterday, which is a two-days hybrid career event dedicated for Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi’s students and alumni that covers areas including recruitment, employability and entrepreneurship.

The event is in line with Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi’s efforts to empower its students and alumni through helping them engage with industry leaders and providing effective career guidance.
On 1 March, the event took place at the university’s campus and welcomed more than 40 companies from the private and public sectors across different industries including tourism, law, luxury, fintech and banking, aviation, human resources, and museums. It featured networking opportunities with employers through insightful talks and various workshops that were attended by nearly 400 students.

During the first day of Astrolabe, Sultan Alhajji who is Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi alumnus and works as a Vice President for Public Affairs and Alumni Relations at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, gave insightful talk about the advantage of learning French on the international and the local job market considering it a real career asset.

On the following day, the event took place virtually hosting a free career online consultation workshop and 20 online informative sessions such as “Mathematics to Blockchain” by Waleed Rassyuli, general manager of the Tezos Foundation for the GCC, who presented opportunities in their ecosystem and discussed blockchain technology from a non-technical point of view.

In addition, students and alumni had the opportunity to have a session with the Senior Brand Lead on Yves Saint Laurent who highlighted the luxury market in the GCC, introduced the brand and spoke about the best practices.
