Research Collaborations Research grants and funded research projects

  • 2024 Principal Investigator, AI in UAE museums project. Conceived a project that seeks to assess the status of Artificial Intelligence projects in Museums in the UAE particularly their compliance to the requirements of the AI Museum Capabilities Framework. The project is expected to commence in September 2024.
  • 2023- Principal Investigator, E-records/ E-government Project, Conceived a project that seeks to determine the e-records readiness of companies within the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone. This is a short-term project that is scheduled to be conducted in the summer of 2023.
  • 2023-Co-Investigator, Greening information management, SUAD, The project seeks to understand the status of green information management in selected countries. That is, UAE, Sweden, Kenya and Zimbabwe by assessing the strategies and policies put in place and level of awareness among public officers.
  • 2022-2023 Principal Investigator, International Council of Archives, Fund for International Development of Archives. Principal investigator in a project seeking to assess the functional requirements and specifications for a suitable software for management of electronic records in the public sector in Kenya. Submitted interim report and will submit final report for the project in March 2023.
  • 2022 Research Video in partnership with Faculti.net, Developed a video that explained the results of the study ' Embedding industry needs in curriculum design and delivery: The Records Management and Archival Science programme at SUAD'. The study used SUAD RMAS programme model to showcase how learning institutions can partner with the industry in integrating industry needs in curriculum design and delivery. URL
  • 2022. Co- Author, Handbook on the management of Records and Archives in the United Arab Emirates, Collaborated in the writing of a Handbook on the management of records in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The handbook is set to be published in March 2022 in partnership with the Abu Dhabi National Archives. It outlines the status of records management in the UAE public sector and makes recommendations on measures to be undertaken to improve the state of records management.
