From COP-30 to COP-31: Where next for Climate Negotiations?
Description
COP-30, held in 2025, marked the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. As Parties now head towards COP-31, this seminar will reflect on the results of COP-30, consider the pathway to COP-31 and what to expect from the next climate negotiations, and discuss the broader future of global climate governance. International climate change and environmental law experts will reflect on questions such as: What did COP-30 deliver? What can we expect from COP-31? Is the current COP model suitable, and what reforms or alternatives could strengthen international climate negotiations? The event builds on the “COP-Fire Chats” hosted by the Asia-Pacific Centre for Environmental Law (APCEL) of the National University of Singapore (NUS) since 2021.
