Sorbonne’s University Marketing, Communication and Media department was honored to participate in the Maritime Decarbonisation Roundtable held as part of the UICCA Forum: Ideas to Impact. Ivana Beveridge and Larisa Bukharina represented the university in engaging discussions focused on accelerating the adoption of alternative fuels and sustainable technologies, integrating low-emission solutions into maritime logistics, and enhancing cross-emirate and regional collaboration.
The event highlighted actionable solutions to position the UAE as a regional leader in sustainable shipping through unified policy and operational frameworks. It also featured the unveiling of UICCA's new identity as Frontier25 by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, symbolizing a renewed commitment to turning ambitious climate goals into measurable action. Key questions addressed during the event included policy incentives for alternative fuel adoption, operational integration of sustainable technologies, overcoming coordination challenges across emirates, and leveraging the UAE’s maritime infrastructure for regional leadership in green shipping.
Frontier25 is an independent, nonprofit climate action advisory based in the UAE focused on turning climate ambition into tangible progress. The organisation advances climate and sustainability solutions through evidence-based advisory, market acceleration and strategic alliances, focusing on delivering measurable impact to support the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals.
Our involvement with Frontier25 reflects a strategic commitment to fostering collaboration with key community and industry partners, aligning closely with its mission to advance sustainability and innovation. Participation in such forums advances SUAD’s strategic goals by promoting multidisciplinary dialogue and partnerships that drive sustainable behavioral change and impactful advancements in industry practices.
