He joined Laurence Paoli, author and journalist specialising in bioacoustics and underwater noise pollution, to discuss the impact of increasing ocean noise on cetaceans and ongoing scientific efforts to mitigate these effects.
The podcast explores how whales use sounds to communicate, navigate, and protect their young but also the growing threat of underwater noise pollution caused by maritime traffic, offshore drilling, and wind turbines, and how researchers are studying whale songs to better understand and protect marine mammals.
