We were honoured to welcome Mr. Martin Briens, Secretary General of the French Ministry for Europe and Member of SUAD's Board of Trustees, to our campus!
During his visit, Mr Briens engaged warmly with our students, faculty, and staff, witnessing firsthand the international reach and impact of French and Francophone education beyond borders. His visit also highlighted the cutting-edge research being conducted at our Sorbonne Centre for Artificial Intelligence (SCAI), where innovation meets academic excellence.
From our world-class campus facilities to our vibrant academic community, this stands as a proud reflection of SUAD's growing global recognition and commitment to excellence, a true testament to the strong and enduring partnership between France and the UAE, and the shared commitment to advancing education and research on a global scale.
At the same time, the 18th UAE–France Strategic Dialogue highlighted the strength of the bilateral partnership, with particular emphasis on higher education cooperation, research collaboration, and the growing role of institutions such as Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi in advancing joint academic and scientific initiatives.
"In relation to higher education specifically, both sides commended the continued success of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) on its 20th anniversary, highlighting its rising enrolment numbers, expanding research output, and strategic cooperation with Zayed Military University. Participants also noted that Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi hosted the France-UAE Forum on Research and Innovation in February 2026, in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Space. The Forum brought together academia, research institutions, and industry from both countries, demonstrating strong alignment in strategic fields such as artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and space."
