Master of Science in International Air Transport Operations Management
The Master of Science in International Air Transport Operations Management, taught in English, offers students a two-year comprehensive learning programme to develop expertise in aeronautical and aviation engineering, operations, law and social environment, economics and project management. Sorbonne Abu Dhabi has partnered with the Ecole Nationale de l’Aviation Civile, Europe’s leading aeronautics and Aviation University, to offer a world-class qualification equipping students for successful careers within the global aviation and aeronautics industry.
The objective of this programme is to prepare and train the next generation of aviation professionals who will tackle the future challenges faced by the global aviation and aeronautical industries. Students will study in both Abu Dhabi and Toulouse to give them valuable international experience. Semester 1 will be taught in Abu Dhabi, 2 semesters will be taught in Toulouse and the final semester will be spent undertaking an internship in a chosen international location.
The first semester in Abu Dhabi teaches students about theoretical flight fundamentals, aircraft environment and meteorology or airport security. During semesters 2 and 3, students will explore a range of topics including aircraft design, airline and airport management, airline operations, drones and helicopters amongst others. These courses are designed to offer a broad line of study for students to get a well-rounded education in aviation and aeronautics.
The internship offered in the fourth and final semester is designed to consolidate and build upon the skills and theory learnt during the first three semesters through industry-relevant, international experience. Students can apply to do their internships at a number of international aviation and aeronautical organisations including Airbus, IATA, Air France and Vinci Airports to name a few.
On completion of this specialist Master’s degree, students will be well placed for a range of promising careers in aviation and aeronautics. Graduates will access senior and management positions in airlines, airports, aerospace organisations and industry, maintenance, repair and operations, civil aviation authorities and air traffic management.
