Sustainability at SUAD

Sustainability at SUAD is a core pillar embedded across teaching, research, and operations, in alignment with our Strategic Plan 2024–2028 and our Sustainability Strategy 2030

In recognition of our efforts, SUAD won First Place in the Environmental Research Institute category of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Environmental Award. Launched by the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD), the award recognises exceptional initiatives across the UAE that advance environmental protection and sustainable resource management.

Through SAFIR, the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi for Innovation and Research Institute, we lead projects addressing key national priorities, from waste management and water desalination to urban sustainability and climate adaptation.

Our cross-departmental initiatives including the Sustainability Taskforce and Sustainability Pledge continue to set benchmarks in environmental governance and institutional responsibility.

Explore how SUAD brings sustainability to life — through visionary leadership, campus-wide initiatives, academic programmes, research, Youth COP, and its global impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Discover the university’s vision, actions, and roadmap to a more sustainable future.
