After obtaining his PhD in private law and criminal law, he became a lecturer at the University of Aix-en-Provence in 2009. He taught criminal law and was in charge of a collective research project on European counterterrorism tools. He subsequently refocused his research activities on business criminal law and then digital law enforcement, particularly in the field of cybersecurity. He then joined the University of Paris Cité (2022). Since arriving at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, he has focused his research and teachings on AI regulations
