Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi and ABB sign an agreement of partnership

In line with its continued commitment to support its academic research in different fields, Sorbonne Abu Dhabi signed today an agreement of partnership with ABB, a global pioneering technology leader in electrification products, robotics and motion, industrial automation and power grids. Prof. Eric Fouache, Vice Chancellor at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi, Mr. Pierre Leretz, Regional President IA Div at ABB and Mostafa AlGuezeri, Managing Director at ABB in the UAE, signed this agreement on the university’s campus in Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi.

Within the framework of this partnership, ABB joins the companions of enlightenment of Sorbonne Abu Dhabi that support the university’s research in the fields of history, geography, archeology, history of art, philosophy, sciences and languages. This partnership aims at developing the university’s research activities and programmes as well as enhancing the student’s academic development to prepare them for their professional careers. This is to be achieved through the annual career event the university organizes and student’s internships opportunities at ABB.

Prof. Fouache, Vice Chancellor at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi, said: “Academic research is crucial at our university as it creates knowledge and expands research in different fields through using various methodologies and theoretical approaches. It also reinforces the university’s international exposure and its position as a prestigious cultural institution. Accordingly, we are proud to welcome ABB as one of our companions of enlightenment especially that they share the same research interest as our university through their Research Grant Programme. They also embody technological excellence at a time where we are opening up to sciences. We are looking forward to this successful partnership that will definitely endorse our common objectives”.
