Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi is an Emirati university that benefits from the 760 years of experience of the prestigious Sorbonne, with a state-of-the-art campus located on Al-Reem Island that combines comfort with the efficiency of new technologies. The methodology, education and degrees are French and issued by Paris-Sorbonne in the field of humanities; by Paris-Descartes for law, management and economics; and by Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) in the sciences.

At present, more than 700 students from over 75 countries are enrolled at Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. We give our students the world-class standards of a Parisian education, offering a degree direct from the universities in Paris at our unique and thrilling location within the Arab world and its new cultural hub, Abu Dhabi. Sorbonne-Abu-DhabiOur university was established in May 2006 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) and Paris-Sorbonne University, as part of the Emirate’s vision for academic and cultural growth.

Highlighting the importance of dialogue between cultures and the exchange of knowledge, the Sorbonne Abu Dhabi organises year-round lectures, roundtable discussions and colloquia in a wide range of fields, as well as art exhibitions and cultural events.

Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi combines the legacy and experience of three significant and legendary French universities – Paris-Sorbonne, Paris-Descartes and UPMC – offering world-class degrees in both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. We follow the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) and are also accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Research.

The university is devoted to Abu Dhabi’s vision of creating a cultural and scientific hub, and its role as an agent to realise this 2030 vision by delivering the future Emirati and international workforce, while contributing to the UAE’s economic diversification.
