Thomas Gomart, director of the IFRI (French Institute of International Relations), will present his latest book The Acceleration of History: The Geostrategic Nodes of a World Out of Control, published on January 9, 2025, by Tallandier.

About the speaker

Thomas Gomart
Thomas Gomart has been the director of the French Institute of International Relations (Ifri) since 2015. He was a member of the editorial board of the Revue nationale stratégique 2017, which was under the authority of the French Minister of Armed Forces. Thomas Gomart is a member of the scientific board of the Institute of Advanced Studies in National Defense (IHEDN) and the editorial board of the journals Politique étrangère, Revue des deux mondes, and Études.
His current work focuses on Russia, digital governance, French foreign policy, geopolitical risks, and think tanks.
He recently published L’Affolement du monde (Tallandier, 2019), Guerres invisibles (Tallandier, 2021), and Les Ambitions inavouées. Ce que préparent les grandes puissances (Tallandier, 2023). His latest book, L’Accélération de l’histoire. Les nœuds géostratégiques d’un monde hors de contrôle, was released in January 2024 by Éditions Tallandier.
Thomas Gomart holds a PhD in the history of international relations from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and an EMBA from HEC. He is a knight of the French National Order of Merit.
