This new bi-monthly rendez-vous for Cinema Lovers in Abu Dhabi is a journey through French and Francophone cinema. The thoughtfully curated selection spans cartoons, family movies, classics, and socially engaged cinema. All movies are in French, with English subtitles.

Synopsis
In His Majesty’s secret apartment, a painter puts the finishing touches to the king’s portrait. But he forgot to draw a cage first. And the portrait, which is the damned soul of the king, removes its model and takes its place. Suddenly, the essence of things is revealed, the inexpressible can be expressed. The painting representing a shepherdess and a chimney sweep comes to life. They confess their love to each other. But the king is in love with the shepherdess, and the children who love each other must run away… Screenplay and dialogue by Jacques Prévert, based on The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweep by Hans Christian Andersen.
