The encounter of this Duet from the two shores of the Mediterranean has given birth to an artistic project which consists of a journey through the most popular songs of the Mediterranean countries. The Duet has produced a CD-Book in which they show us how poetry, lyrics, music, rhythms and art in general have succeeded in bringing together countries and peoples with different customs and cultural, linguistic and civilizational heritages.
Their journey takes them to twelve Mediterranean countries, combining tunes, rhythms, lyrics and songs in a variety of languages including Spanish, French, Italian, Greek, Cypriot and Turkish, as well as Arabic dialects such as Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian, Egyptian, Lebanese and Syrian. They also pay tribute to the United Arab Emirates, where the Duet was formed and where the project was born.
The Cd-Book was illustrated by children aged 10 to 15 from the Lycée Français Théodore Monod in Abu Dhabi and the Lycée 9 Avril in Hay Attadhamon, Tunis.
The Francophone project consists of interpreting songs from these different countries, demonstrating the fusion of the language of Molière with other languages and cultures. The Duet is accompanied by artists playing different instruments (Violin, Cello, Keyboard and Percussion), forming an ensemble celebrating the marriage of Mediterranean and Francophone sounds.
