Conference from Anne Abeillé: La Grande Grammaire du français, an extraordinary book & project

Linguist Anne Abeillé will present her latest exceptional book and project titled La Grande Grammaire du français. The conference will focus on exploring the French language, the main topics mentioned in the book, detailed examples and the crucial issues behind the concept of “norm” and “good usage”.
Published in October 2021, La Grande Grammaire du Français gathers contributions of 59 authors linguists, collected over 20 years. The book offers the reader a detailed state of play of contemporary French language. It presents, in a unified and comprehensive setting, the diversity of oral and written language use in France and abroad and provides new tools for teaching French.
The conference will take place at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Campus, at the Robert de Sorbon Amphitheatre.

Graduate of l’École Normale Supérieure and holder of an “Aggrégation” in French Litteraure, Anne Abeillé is a university professor since 2000 at the University of Paris and a member of the formal linguistic laboratory (LLF) at CNRS. Specialist of syntax study, she published numerous books such as:

- Une grammaire électronique du français, CNRS éditions, 2002
- Les Grammaires d’unification, Hermès, 2007
Anne Abeillé is also CNRS silver medalist and a member of Academia Europaea.
