France-UAE: Genesis of a Relationship

If France has strong historical relationships with North Africa, the “Levant” region (Syria, Lebanon Palestine) and Egypt, it has also developed, in a more recent history, strong strategic partnerships with the UAE. Under the impulsion of his Highness the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the two countries have developed several partnerships in the fields of economy, security, energy, environment, tourism and education leading to the opening of French-Emirati prestigious institutions such as Sorbonne Abu Dhabi and the Louvre Abu Dhabi. This conference presents the key stones of this relationship.
