Abstract:

The two-year Master degree programme in Records Management and Archival Studies offered at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi has been designed in collaboration with the UAE National Archives due to high demand in this field. This Master degree programme is a comprehensive one for decision-makers that provides high level of intellectual education, the ability to think critically and autonomously, and conduct research on new topics. The programme will prepare students to become seasoned professionals in the field, especially in the wake of digital revolution and transition towards e-administration and paperless administration. A Q&A session will take place at the end of the webinar where attendees get the opportunity to ask questions.

About the speakers:

Dr Yann Rodier
Dr Yann Rodier
Yann Rodier is Assistant Professor and Head of History department at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. He implemented the new programmes in records management and archival studies at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. He is Dr in Early Modern History.

Dr Victor Kabata
Dr Victor Kabata
Victor Kabata is grounded on matters of Records and Archives Management having worked at an Archival institution for over 10 years. He is Dr in Information Studies and his research interests are records and archives management, freedom of information and information governance. Victor Kabata is a Post-doctoral Fellow at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi in the History Department.

Dr Forget Chaterera
Dr Forget Chaterera
Forget Chaterera-Zambuko is a Post-doctoral Fellow at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi in the History Department. She is a co-editor for the Archives and Records Journal and a rated researcher by the National Research Foundation of South Africa.  She is a Programme Committee member for the International Council on Archives’ (ICA) Rome Conference 2022. Dr Zambuko was Zimbabwe’s research leader for the International Research on Permanent Authentic Records in Electronic Systems (InterPARES Project Africa Team (Phase four). Her research interests are on the application of emerging technologies in records management and archival science.
