Abstract

Join us for “Le Salon de Musique” for a journey through music. Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of melody as we explore diverse themes and topics across various musical genres from around the globe. Through captivating audio and video recordings, let the music take you on a journey through its rich tapestry of notes and rhythms.

This edition of Salon de Musique invites listeners on an introductory journey through the world of Qawwali, exploring its origins, famous contemporary figures, and diversity of expression. With brief interventions to point out significant elements, the evening utilizes recordings of live performances and encourages participants to think about music as a bidirectional experience.

Standing at the crossroads of South Asia’s many languages, cultures, and beliefs, “Qawwali” is a musical genre that has shaped Islamic practice in the region and become a symbol of popular culture for one of the world’s largest Muslim populations.

Each session of Le Salon de Musique will begin with a brief introduction of the day’s theme, followed by curated musical pieces presented through engaging videos created just for you. Before each piece, enjoy a short presentation that delves into the composer’s background, the history, and the unique characteristics of the music.
Our goal is to foster a love for music and provide a welcoming space to connect with fellow enthusiasts. We can’t wait to share this musical journey with you!

This musical experience is part of our monthly series, held on the 15th of every month, where participants explore and discuss various genres of music from around the world.

Come, indulge your passion for music and connect with fellow enthusiasts!
