Abstract
Aside from its religious signification and holy rites, Ramadan in the Gulf region is associated with musalsalāt, television serial shows from Egypt, the Levant and the Gulf — mainly meaning Koweit, the regional hub for TV fiction. To which extent is this year’s Ramadan TV reflecting the troubled times we are living? And are 30 episode shows still relevant and popular, among the younger generations?
