Abstract

This workshop will provide an analysis of the decarbonization efforts within the shipping sector, examining main challenges and solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions from maritime transport considering the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2023 Revised Strategy on the Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions. Topics will include the impact of regulatory changes, the role of alternative fuels, and the adoption of new technologies to enhance energy efficiency. The aim is to engage key stakeholders in a dialogue on how the shipping industry can achieve meaningful reductions in its carbon footprint through innovation and collaboration.
