Abstract
The theme of this seminar is informed by the broader UAE vision 2071 of creating a robust economy driven by knowledge and innovation. In this regard, the seminar will explore ways in which records and archives can be leveraged to feed into the four pillars of a knowledge economy, that is, innovation, research, science, and technology. The seminar provides a forum for academics and industry experts to share their insights and experiences on the efforts that their institutions are making to promote research and innovation and possible areas of collaboration towards realization of UAE vision of a knowledge economy. Further, the seminar will also highlight the role played by archives and information professionals in the 21st century knowledge societies.

About the speakers

Dr.Wafaa Ali is a Human Resource and Knowledge Economy expert with a Doctorate in Human resource specializing in Knowledge Economy and its impact on economic growth. She possesses 18 years of experience as a human resource and self-development trainer in government entities and volunteer for charity centres. She has conducted courses and seminars focusing on Creativity, Modern management; The way to Excellence, Positive Thinking, Keys of Success, Effective Communication, Motivation, Modern Offices Management, Brain Programming, the power of Self Tolerance, Digital Age Challenges, Knowledge and Creativity, Innovation. She has published 33 books in Human resource including 3 books on knowledge economy, corporate reputation in digital age and soft power.

 

Zulpat Aziyeva is the Head of Knowledge Management of one of the leading UAE national company. She also doubles up as a lecturer, mentor, and independent consultant. Further, she possesses extensive experience in access to information flows and changes in the knowledge environment, which has enabled her to effectively contribute to organizational teams’, and individuals’ success. She is passionate about knowledge management. Indeed, throughout her extensive career in project and risk management, and academic life, her main goal has always been to help create a knowledge-based society and culture.

 

Shaima Al Aydarous is the Director of the Trade Negotiations and International Organizations Department at the UAE Ministry of Economy, where she leads UAE negotiation teams in securing trade agreements, manages bilateral trade relationships, and delivers on the UAE’s international engagement program. Prior to this role, Shaima served as an advisor on international trade policy and led the Ministry of Economy’s special projects team. Shaima has held several other posts in federal government, serving as the former Head of International Climate Policy at the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment as well as a diplomat at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
