Conference: Sustainable Finance, Green Investment and Energy Transition: Issues and Potential Solutions

Date: Wednesday 1 November 2023
Time: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Venue: Zayed Theatre, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Campus

Abstract

Sustainable finance is a concept that aims to fight global warming by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhance green investments. This idea of sustainable finance was reinforced with the signing of the Paris agreements during COP21 in 2015. After the signing of the Paris agreements, sustainable finance is recognized as essential to the transition to a greener society.

2023 will be a historic year for the UAE. The country is going to host the 28th session of the Conference of Parties (COP 28). The main goals will focus on achieving sustainability and encouraging global cooperation to address global issues.

In this context, we will organize a conference to see to what extent sustainable finance is the best investment alternative? What are the most effective tools to encourage companies to adopt more green investment? and how to create a bidirectional relationship between energy transition and sustainable finance?
