The play, published in 1952 (Les Éditions de Minuit) then created in Paris in 1953, explores the absurdity of human existence through the relationships of Vladimir and Estragon, two old friends who meet Pozzo and Lucky, a strange duo, then a Boy, messenger of Godot.
