2022 Youth Hackathon
7 June, 2022Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi hosted the “2022 Youth Hackathon” organised by TotalEnergies Foundation in collaboration with InstitutFrançais-and La Fresque du Climat.
The two-day event hosted on campus 30 students from Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, UAE University, l’Ecole 42, Khalifa University, and University of Sharjah. Itevent highlighted the future of the energy sector in the UAE by delivering awareness sessions and workshops on the causes and consequences of climate change and by encouraging students to study the sustainable development strategy of different organisations and prepare a pitch proposal.
On the second day of the hackathon, a ceremony was held at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi campus where participants pitched their ideas and proposals to the jury. And a winning team was selected. The closing ceremony started with a welcoming speech by Dr Laurence Renault, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, HE Xavier Chatel, Ambassador of France to the UAE, and Mr Elias Kassis, TotalEnergies’ UAE country chair and ended with participants receiving certificates of achievement.
