Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi holds panel discussion on “What history tells us about our societies”
25 October, 2022Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi organised a panel discussion titled “What history tells us about our societies”, which was held on the occasion of the donation of more than 1700 books to Sorbonne University Abu Dhabis’ Library by renowned historians Professor Denis Crouzet, Professor of Modern History and Elisabeth Crouzet-Pavan, professor of Medieval History.
The discussion was moderated by Dr Yann Rodier, Assistant Professor, Head of the History Department, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and a group of faculty members and students attended.
During the seminar, Professors Crouzet shared insights on their journey as research faculty at Sorbonne University in Paris and as History department visiting professors at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, furthermore, they shed light on what history tells us about our societies and the work of historians, and how their work has contributed to the enrichment of historians’ libraries and increased public understanding of our past and ultimately present societies.
In this regard, Professor Silvia Serrano, Vice-Chancellor, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi expressed her appreciation and gratitude for the generous donation by professors Crouzet to the University Library, which comes with the University’s keenness to provide all scientific resources and encourage students to nurture their knowledge and read.
