Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi Presents ‘Echoes of Earth’: A Multi-Arts Performance on Nature, Climate and Connection

In a powerful celebration of the natural world and a moving reflection on the collective responsibility to protect it, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi (SUAD) is thrilled to present ‘Echoes of Earth – Nature Voices in Motion, Sound and Light’ on Thursday, May 29th. This 90-minute immersive performance fuses classical music, cinematic visuals, and evocative storytelling to awaken the senses and inspire environmental consciousness.
Presented in partnership with Emirates Nature—WWF, Climate Fresk, and Chalhoub Group, the event marks a major moment in SUAD’s initiatives aligned with 2025 being declared as the Year of Ocean. It underscores the university’s commitment to advancing marine conservation, sustainability, and scientific research.
In line with the Year of Community, this event also celebrates homegrown talent and contributes to advancing local cultural initiatives. Featuring works by renowned composers such as Claude Debussy, Frédéric Chopin, Maurice Ravel, and Philip Glass, the programme will be brought to life by a gifted ensemble of musicians including Ina Chareli (piano), Anna Lashko (cello), Natalia Vaskinona (violin), Stephane Ferrault (clarinet), and more.

Following successful performances at Dubai College and the Theatre of Digital Art (TODA), this much-anticipated show arrives at SUAD’s Zayed Theater with a captivating fusion of music, visuals and live acting. Created by environmental storyteller and sustainability advocate Cyril Escaravage in association with acclaimed clarinetist and composer Stéphane Ferrault, Echoes of Earth will explore the beauty and fragility of our planet’s most vital ecosystems—forests and oceans— while illuminating the powerful connections between nature, humanity, and the mind.
At the heart of the experience is a seamless interplay between art and science. Audiences will be transported from the depths of the oceans to the stillness of the woods, and even into the human brain itself, as the show highlights the emotional and intellectual pathways that link us to the planet—and the steps we can take to heal it.
The production also supports the global call for climate action and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those focused on protecting life on land and below water. It forms part of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi’s growing cultural programme, designed to inspire critical thought and deeper appreciation for global challenges through the arts.
Tickets are priced at AED 75 and the event is open to the public. Doors open at 7:30pm with representatives from Emirates Nature—WWF, Climate Fresk, and Chalhoub Group present to welcome attendees and engage them in meaningful conversations around environmental awareness and sustainability.
